Know small parts

"You can say that Laura is amazingly correct in everything she says and sees, but she makes you hunt for the urgent need to to do it which is at the bottom of all...She's nailed the daily life of an actor in LA about as perfectly detailed as it gets."

Richard Dreyfuss (Actor: Academy and Golden Globe Award Winner)

Laura has built a built a career by herself out of hard work and the ability to understand that in order for her to succeed she would have to adapt to the moments and times of her life.  What makes her even more remarkable is that she never gave up her personal integrity in this most difficult business.  She has absolute love, command and respect for the craft. She wants that thing that all actor's want.  A part.  A chance.  It is with great respect that I salute her journey knowing that her life has been much more than just the movies.  She has stopped her life and dreams multiple times to invest in others difficulties.  Laura's outward beauty could have guaranteed her much more in this business perhaps even worldwide fame. She could have taken an easier route for her professional pursuits but instead chose to make it about the work and only the work.  She is a role model in that regard and a true leading lady.  Enjoy what she has to say and see if you can see yourself in her journey.  She still has some big important parts to play.

Kevin Costner (Actor: Academy and Golden Globe Award Winner)

"Anyone who has met Laura knows that she is unforgettable.  Perhaps even more impressive is that she has found a way to translate this personal charisma and life-force into her appearances on screen, making the most of every second of camera time given to her.  She has literally figured out a way to bottle lightning.  I'm sure that her observations and guidance will be invaluable to the actor who is looking to make his or her mark in the film world and to build a career, moment by moment."

Lou Diamond Phillips (Actor: Golden Globe Nominee. Courage Under Fire, La Bamba)

"Laura Cayouette knows what she is doing. She can make an indelible character out of a gesture, a prop or the flash of her eye. Backed up by her meticulous research, she knows what a director wants and what an editor needs to tell the story. She's the real deal."

Dennis Christopher (Actor: Golden Globe Nominee & BAFTA award winner. Breaking Away, Django Unchained)

"Laura has strength, courage and the conviction and, pardon my French but, the balls to hold on to her place in this business. Read her book and you'll find out how."

Joanna Cassidy (Actor: Body of Proof, Six Feet Under, Bladerunner)

"Laura Cayouette's KNOW SMALL PARTS is required reading for everyone with stars in their eyes.  Hollywood is inundated daily with countless dreamers hoping for a career in front of the camera, but no idea how best to pursue one.  Laura's smart, sensible and no nonsense step by step approach to achieving a career as an actor is certain to be the new bible for everyone yearning to break into the biz.  I look forward to Laura being thanked in many future Oscar speeches."

Adam Rifkin (Writer/Director: Look, Showtime's Reality Show)

"I write off most of these books.  But this one I can’t.  It stands far above most giving smart, logical, realistic and poignant advice.  Laura speaks with great intelligence about what must be the most difficult career choice one can make and most importantly how to survive having made that choice."

George W. Perkins (Executive Producer: Desperate Housewives)

A must read gift for actors. Laura Cayouette, a successful actor and renowned journalist thoroughly lays out a path to artistic fulfillment and success. Bravo! The Dude Abides

Jeff "The Dude" Dowd  (Producer, movie marketing maven Hoosiers, The Black Stallion, Desperately Seeking Susan)

KNOW SMALL PARTS is like having a successful big sister (or big brother) to show you the ropes of Hollywood. Laura's book isn't an academic "how to" book--its a warm and personal look at how she has actually built a lucrative and fulfilling career.

M. Dal Walton, III (Production Executive: Narc, 16 Blocks, Rambo)

Laura Cayouette has created an entire career out of stealing scenes and making moments. Know Small Parts boils that down to nuts and bolts information every actor should know.

Scott LaStatie (Executive Producer: Runner, Runner; Love in the Time of Cholera)

Ryan Glorioso CSA (Casting Director: Now You See Me, Lay the Favorite)

"She was good enough to be intimidating."

Todd Duffee (Champion MMA fighter, UFC record for the fastest KO)

"There are some other interesting females thrown in, such as biker bar owner Dani, played by Laura Cayouette, who steals the show away from, well, everyone."

Review By Linda Stasi for the NY POST

"And in a bit role as a bartender, Laura Cayouette intones the line "You must be ... The Gent" in a voice so sultry she's halfway to the post-coital cig as she's saying it. Her smile, however, suggests an actual actress having actual fun, in a movie where everyone around her is either hiding behind sunglasses or mud-wrestling."
